In the near future, the film follows Teresa (Brbara Colen), who returns to Bacurau, a village in semi-arid Brazil, to attend her grandmother’s funeral. Upon arrival, Teresa immediately saw signs that Bacurau was in critical condition. The basic amenities are lack of delivery, cell phone coverage fades, clean water supply is limited and trucks with drinking water are full of bullet holes. It soon became clear that the corrupt government had completely left the village: Bacurau was not only removed from the map but its citizens were also attacked. As a responsible person, the villagers should provide regular matches to avoid further damage.
